Accessing Your PhilSys Digital National ID on eGovPH
Learn how to access, view, and present your digital PhilSys National ID legally using the eGovPH mobile application.
The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) is the foundation of the country's digital ID system. Through a partnership between the PSA and DICT, you can now access national id egovph services directly inside the super app. The virtual ID displayed in the app holds the same legal validity as the physical PhilID card, allowing you to present it for official transactions in government offices and private institutions.
Benefits of the Digital National ID
Having your National ID integrated into your eGovPH wallet offers several key benefits:
- No Physical Card Needed: You don't need to worry about losing or forgetting your physical card; your ID is stored securely on your phone.
- Instantly Generated: Even if you are still waiting for your physical PhilID card to be delivered, your digital ID is generated as soon as your PhilSys record is active.
- Secure QR Verification: The ID includes a secure QR code that banks and government agencies can scan using the official PhilSys portal to authenticate your identity.
How to Access Your Digital ID
To view your digital National ID in the app, follow these steps:
- Open the eGovPH app and enter your 6-digit MPIN or verify using your fingerprint.
- Ensure your account status is listed as "Verified" (requires completing face verification).
- On the app homepage, tap on the "National ID" or "Wallet" tab.
- The system will fetch your record from the PSA registry. Enter your MPIN if prompted.
- Your virtual National ID card will appear on the screen, showing your photo, full name, birthdate, and the verification QR code. Tap the card to view the back side containing your PhilSys Card Number.
Legal Acceptance
Under Section 12 of Republic Act No. 11055, the digital National ID is a valid and sufficient proof of identity. Government offices, banks, and private companies are legally mandated to accept the digital ID displayed on the eGovPH app. If an establishment refuses to accept it, you can file a complaint with the PSA or DICT support desk.
